Yet, later things were quite special. Columbia Street was closed to traffic at noon. By three o'clock things were set up for the New West Pride Street Party. The weather was a little dark and cool, at first. As evening approached the sun peeked out for a bit. The beer gardens were full. Music filled the air. Lots of people came to check out the booths and other visitors. Biff Naked was the last to fill the big stage near Fourth Street. Later, near the Heritage Grill, drag queens lip synced to classics, well drag-queen kind of classics.
A friend came to visit and went for a swim, had dinner, and walked up and down the street several times with us. I'm proud of our little city.
