Time surely roars along quickly nowadays. Jay and I returned from our winter in Mexico one month ago today!
Perhaps that's why the Hyack Festival Association picked today for New Westminster's International Parade. Actually, we know that it always occurs over the US Memorial Day Weekend. This date gives a chance for a number of Washington and Oregon organizations and floats to participate. It seems as though there were fewer out-of-town visitors this year. I guess, I'm just sad that Seattle's Seafair Pirates no longer come up for our event. In the past, I can even remember high school bands from as far away as California.
The weather wasn't the most cooperative today either. Although there was no rain, it was only about 14C and overcast at the time of the parade.
Still, it was fun and big crowds were lining Sixth Street. We watched from uptown. Here are nine photos where I tried to capture the spirit of the event.
