Our flight leaves Vancouver at 6:00 am. That means we should be at the airport at 3:30 am. Yawn. We have gone to the airport several times by taxi, but we actually find transit easier. Who wants to try to sleep and then get up to get a taxi at 2:30 in the morning? We have decided we will not even try sleeping and then maybe we can spend the five hour flight nodding off.
The Canada Line was built in time for the 2010 Olympics.
Unfortunately, transit is not very robust in the early hours of the morning. So, we've chosen to leave around midnight on a SkyTrain bound for downtown. Then, we will catch one of the last Canada Line trains to the airport. We will be at YVR several hours early but we don't mind hanging around airports. We have two bags to check and luckily there's no charge on WestJet as we are on a direct flight to Mexico. We should be able to roll our luggage right from our doorway directly to check-in without needing to lift them off their wheels.
Tomorrow's entry should be posted from the top-floor studio at Casa Aguacate, our home until spring.
