We walked out to the main road area caught the #275 bus. We wound up at new Central Station at least a half hour before our 10:00 departure. The Primera Plus bus line was fine with shiny new buses. I paid much more attention to the scenery today than on the bus going there. The photo below was taken from the bus and is looking back towards the town of Tequila, Mexico. Different parts of the trip reminded me of various trips. Parts of the desert area looked like Arizona. The Sierra Madres reminded me of mountains in the Okanagan of British Columbia. The final decent to the tropical coast looked like parts of Sri Lanka. It seemed like a lot of geography packed into five an a half hours.
After getting into Puerto Vallarta we, against our better judgement, took a local bus we did not know. A lady recommended it in Spanish. It eventually arrived in the old town as we wanted but it served many local neighbourhoods. It took what seemed like hours. It was a bit scary as we didn't recognize the landmarks coming in that way and thought we might have overshot the town completely. Once we did decide to get off, we only had to walk a bit before getting our bearings.
